ROBERT L. VAN ANDA, 80, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Ashton Creek Health & Rehab. Born in Fort Wayne, Robert was a Korean War Air Force veteran. While serving in the Air Force, he met his future wife, Tatiana in Casablanca, Morocco. He was an insurance salesman and broker for over 50 years before retiring. He was a past member of the Shrine; Scottish Rite - Maumee Lodge; Kiwanis International (Past Lt. Governor); L.U.T.C.F., and a member of The Chapel. Robert was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed spending time at the lakes. Surviving are his son, Robert (Michelle) Van Anda of Fort Wayne; daughter, Jacqueline (Robert) Akey of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kira, Alexander, Nicholas, and Benjamin; stepgrandchildren, Zaria, Jasmyn, and Lauren; and sister, Barbara (George) Strong of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Orpha Van Anda; wife, Tatiana Van Anda; and brothers, George and Mac Van Anda. Service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Mark Clough officiating. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Memorials may be made to The Chapel.
