TERRY L. KLINGER, 72, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in South Bend, Ind., Terry worked as an electrical engineer and program manager with Magnavox and Raytheon for 34 years, retiring in 2003. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam during the 1960's. Terry enjoyed gardening, cooking, wood working, and spending time with his grandchildren. He received his BS degree from Purdue University in 1972 and received his Masters in 1980 from Indiana University. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Mary C. Klinger of Fort Wayne; sons, Dr. James P. (Jennie) Klinger of Fort Wayne and Andrew J. (Mandi) Klinger of Greenwood, Ind.; daughter, Susan Byers of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Holderbaum of North Liberty, Ind.; and brothers, Ronald (Catherine) Klinger of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Brent Klinger of Chapin, S.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Winifred Klinger; and sister-in-law, Toni Klinger. Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rev. Susan Keirn Kester officiating. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at the funeral home. Private burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Arcola Ind.
