VIOLET J. PUGH, 93, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Ossian, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 2, 1919, in Yoder, she was a daughter of the late John and Ardola (Swaim) Monnot. She worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau. She enjoyed reading her Bible, and doing sewing and cross stitch pieces for family. Surviving family include her children, Larry (Cindy) Pugh of Ossian, Janece "Jan" (Merrill) Osborn of Sand Springs, Okla.; son-in-law, John Cochran of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sibling, Harold (Laura) Monnot of Peru, Ind.; and brother-in-law, Robert Maidens of Bluffton, Ind. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, George Pugh, in 2003; daughter, Sandra Cochran; siblings, Rose Maidens, Wilbur, Earl, and Myron Monnot; and half brother, Richard Banet. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or the Northeast.
