WILLARD "WILL" TRAVIS, 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, Will graduated from New Haven High School, and then went on to earn his bachelors in English and speech from Indiana University, and his masters in theatre from the University of Michigan. He spent more than 26 years as an educator in English, speech, theatre, and journalism at New Haven High School, Heritage High School and several schools in Texas. He retired from Gallup in Omaha, Neb. in 2009. Will and his wife returned to Fort Wayne in August of 2013. Will was active in the Arena Dinner Theatre as director, performer, and board member, and the Apple Tree Dinner Theatre which he founded and was the director. Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Rosemary Travis of Fort Wayne; sister, Beverly Pabst of Normal, Ill.; sister-in-law, Carolyn Travis of Fort Wayne; seven nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Lewis and Forest Travis; and brother, Robert Travis. Service is 6 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling from 4 p.m. until the service. Msgr. Tad Balinda officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the .
