WILLIAM M. "BILL" BEEMER, 86, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the IU Goshen Hospital. Born April 4, 1926, in Plumtree, Ind., Oral and Irene (Mc Courg) Beemer. On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Barbara Keplinger; who survives. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1944 to 1946. He moved to Lake Wawasee full time in 1961. He was a Manufacturing Rep. for many years as well as President of Beemer Enterprises. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was President of the Syracuse Museum, Ft. Wayne Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite & 32 degree Mason. Past Commodore of the Wawasee Flotilla. Past Commander of the Huntington YEW. Syracuse American Legion. President of the Sesquicentennial 1987. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Beemer of Syracuse; two daughters, Constance (Steven) Nitsch of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Cindi (Jeff) Wells of Syracuse; and five grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, and Alan Nitsch, Leighton and Cassandra Wells. He was preceded by his granddaughter-in-law, Amanda "Mandi" Wells; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Juliana "A.J" Wells. Service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Eastlund Funeral Home. Visitation. is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment is Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Markle Cemetery, Markle, with Military Honors.
