Bernard F. Gauthier

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Bernard F. " Frank " Gauthier, 67 of Lords Lane in South Berwick died suddenly on Feb. 28th at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Born in Baltimore, Md. on July 21, 1946, he was a son of Bernard O. And Margaret (Root) Gauthier. Following the death of his mom he moved with his dad and stepmother Mary F. (Rapetti) Gauthier, to Epping, where he was raised and attended local schools, graduating from Epping High School. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War. Frank worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a ship fitter retiring with over twenty five years of service. He shared over thirty three years together with his loving wife Sandra L. (Melanson) Gauthier. Together they made a home in Eliot for many years and for the last nearly twenty years on Lords Lane. Following retirement Frank enjoyed working for Del's Service and later for AAA as a wrecker operator and roadside service provider. He was an avid cook, enjoying cooking shows and sharing meals with family and friends. Frank was an avid out of doors man enjoying hunting, fishing and a round of golf whenever he could with his good friend Richard Newman.

Frank will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, including his wife Sandy of South Berwick, children Christine Allen and her husband Travis of Rochester; Randy Navarro and his wife Sharon of Kittery, Maine; Jennifer Rhodes and her husband Joseph of Dover; Rebecca Peterson of Gilbert, Ariz.; his sister Barbara Glebus of Rollinsford; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his son Scott Navarro of Phoenix, Ariz.

Friends may visit with Frank's family on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road Kittery, Maine 03904. A funeral will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the . Care for the Gauthier family is entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
