Donald Perham

RYE - Donald E.Perham, passed away July 26, 2013, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Born December 20, 1928, in Biddeford, Maine, he was the son of Stephen and Louise (Allen) Perham.

He attended Portsmouth High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949. He graduated from Henniker University and the N.H. Technical School as a draftsman.

Prior to his retirement, Donald was employed by Simplex for 39 years.

Donald was married to Dorothy (Moody) Perham for 63 years; they were the parents of three children, Richard Perham, Donna Goodwin and Debra Perham.

Donald enjoyed bowling, golfing and all the Boston sports teams. He was dearly loved by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son, Richard and his wife Kim, daughter, Donna and her husband Gary Goodwin. He also leaves four grandchildren, Mathew Chaille, Kaylie Goodwin, Nathan & Nathanial Perham; a brother, Robert of Eliot and sisters, Barbara Hodgdon of Eliot, Maine, and Beverly Splaine of Portsmouth; several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra.

Services: There will bea graveside service on August 2nd at 10 a.m. at the Central Cemetery in Rye with a reception to follow at the Rye Congregational Church. Donations may be made in his name to The Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843. The J. Verne Wood Funeral Home – Buckminster Chapel, assisted with arrangements.
