Harriet Estelle LaMarca

KITTERY, Maine - Harriet Estelle LaMarca, 84 of Eliot Road in Kittery died on March 16, 2014, during a short stay at the Edgewood Center in Portsmouth.

Born in Dover, she was one of ten children to Bertram and Effie (Stacy) Tuttle. She was raised in Eliot, graduating from Eliot High School.

She met and married her loving husband Salvatore J. LaMarca and together they made a home and raised a family in the home she would remain in until her death. She worked for Diaphram Industries in Portsmouth as a quality inspector and for a time as molder, retiring after nearly twenty three years of service.

Harriet enjoyed membership in the TOPS Club Association for nearly forty six years, the Portsmouth VFW Ladies Auxillary Post #168 for nearly 55 years and was an avid reader. She was an active member of St. Raphaels Church in Kittery for many years.

Her first love was unquestionably her family, she is survived by her children; daughters Louise C LaMarca Gay and Elaine H. Burns and her husband Rick both of Rochester, and sons Michael J and his wife Theresa LaMarca of Kittery and James E. and his wife Mary Helen LaMarca of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, grandchildren Michele, Andrea, Tony, Erin, Vincent, Brian, Renee, Paul, Norman, Chris, Sarah, James & John, sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with Harriet's family on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904. A Mass of Chistian Burial will celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in her church St. Raphael's Church on Whipple Road in Kittery, with Fr. John Skehan as celebrant. Family flowers only, donations may be made in her memory to the of Maine 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C Scarborough, Maine 04074. Care for the LaMarca family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
