Louise C. Christopher

SPRINGVALE - Louise C. Christopher, 72, of Springvale, died on Jan. 1, 2014, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a brief illness.

She was born in Granby, Quebec, Canada, on March 11, 1941, the daughter of Rosario A. and Simone Beauregard.

She grew up in Central Falls, R.I., and was a 1958 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She lived on Nantucket for several years and settled in the Sanford area in 1979.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Louise was a member of the Sanford Elks Lodge and member and past president of the Sanford VFW Auxiliary.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and puzzles.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Nadine Merrill, in 1991, and by her husband, Melvin Christopher, in 2012.

Survivors include her daughters, Monique Normandeau, and her husband, Roger, of Springvale, and Judy Coyle and her husband, Chris, of Springvale; brothers, Rene Beauregard and Denny Beauregard, both of North Carolina; sister, Jackie Lainhart, of Lincoln, R.I.; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends called on Sunday, Jan. 5, at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Jan. 6, at the Notre Dame Church of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Springvale.

Burial will be in the spring in Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.
