Charles D. Fishack, Jr., 93, of Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD, passed away Thursday August 14, 2014 at his home.

Born June 8, 1921 near Greensburg, MD, he was the son of the late Charles D. Fishack, Sr. & Edith (Miller) Fishack.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Louisa Houpt Fishack, on June 16, 2005. They were married June 14, 1941.

He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School & attended Business College.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy.

Charles was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and was president of Maryland Maid Kitchens of Hagerstown before taking over as owner & operator.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Smithsburg, Smithsburg Lions Club where he served as past President, past Zone Chairman & past District Governor in 1967, Salem Masonic Lodge 196 A.F & A.M. of Smithsburg & Fountain Head Country Club of Hagerstown.

Charles is survived by son C. Edward Fishack & wife Barbara of Hagerstown, daughter Julianne F. Harp & husband David of Smithsburg, grandchildren Pamala J. Huntzberry & husband Brad of Smithsburg, Stephen D. Harp & wife Yvonne of Fayetteville, WV, Anne M. Linn & husband Eric of Smithsburg & Kristen A. Lourinia & husband Jeff of New Market, MD, great grandchildren Kyle W. Huntzberry, Kayla M. Huntzberry, Mason D. Harp, Bryce A. Harp, Tyler D. Linn, Austin M. Linn, Ryan A. Linn, Blake W. Linn, Zack T. Linn & Julia E. Lourinia, sister-in-laws Bette Fishack of Hagerstown & Carolyn Fishack of Frederick & several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brother Robert L. Fishack & Eugene F. Fishack.

Services will be held Monday August 18, 2014 at 10:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Charles to the Smithsburg Lions Club Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 745 Smithsburg, MD 21783 or the Smithsburg Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 217 Smithsburg, MD 21783.
