Earl W. Leatherman, age 79, of Gettysburg, PA died Sunday, December 9, 2012 surrounded by his family at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg.|
He was born on the family farm outside of Gettysburg on March 22, 1933, son of the late Lloyd & Halcie (Emsweller) Leatherman.
Mr. Leatherman was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U. S. Army. He was employed by Ag Com in Gettysburg for 45 years as a truck driver, after his retirement he worked part-time for All-Star Sports Complex in Gettysburg. He and his wife were members of the Battlefield Ramblers for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anna C. (Snyder) Leatherman, two sons; Earl W. Leatherman, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Dover, PA and Michael L. Leatherman and his wife Debbie of Gettysburg, three daughters; Victory A. Flanary of New Oxford, PA, Leisa M. Leatherman-Cupp and her husband Richard of Chambersburg, PA and Della M. Cunningham and her husbandRichard of McKnightstown, PA, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, two brothers; Donald Leatherman and hiswife Betty of Gettysburg and Richard Smith and his wife Shirley of Gettysburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Leatherman.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Chaplain John Morrill, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 12 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
