Joseph Ricketts Obituary
Mr. Joseph M. (Boots) Ricketts

Born July 26, 1925, formerly of Urbana MD, passed away on Thursday, June 19, at his home in Haines City, FL.

Mr. Ricketts was a graduate of Frederick High School, Class of 1944. After graduating he worked at Knott & Geisbert until he was drafted into the Army for the Korean War. While serving in the Korean War he was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon returning home he began his career with the government working at Ft. Detrick & on to the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD where he later retired and moved to Florida.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Ricketts and his Mother, Cecelia Ricketts Geisbert, and Step-Father Roger Hood Geisbert, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his former wife Doris Ricketts Webb. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Ricketts and wife Paula and Greg Ricketts; 5 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren all of Jacksonville, FL; His half brother Roger Hood Geisbert III of Urbana, 1 uncle Hamliton Geisbert and wife Mary of Sun City AZ; 1 aunt Mrs. Hazel Fox, Charles Town, WV.

He also leaves behind some very close long-time friends Annabelle Crutchley of Frederick MD and George & Thelma Crutchley of Haines City, FL. His upbeat personality will be missed by his many friends who he enjoyed spending time with him and going out to dinner.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home in Ponte Beach, FL.
