KEVIN THOMAS PRATO, 29, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD.

Born October 28, 1984 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of Patricia Ann Williams Prato and the late Robert Jude Prato, Sr.

Kevin enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and was in Active Reserve Status at time of his death. During his time in the military, he was deployed for 2 consecutive tours of duty in Iraq from 2006-2009, and an additional tour in Afghanistan in 2012. He held a civilian job as a Research Associate for The CoStar Group while inactive reserve status. Kevin's life was devoted to his love of country, family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 4 years, Kandis Moore Prato; daughters, Alba Marie Prato and Temperance Jude Prato; son, Alexander Thomas Prato; mother, Patricia Ann Williams; sister Tara Ann Lowe and husband David Alfred; brothers Robert Jude Prato, Jr, and Brian Patrick Prato; Paternal-Grandmother, Rosalie Samut Prato; Father-in-law, Anthony Domning and wife Ann Manion; Grandparents-in-law, Constantine "Gus" Tseronia and wife Laura Waple Tseronis; Sister-in-laws, Kara Miriam Moore and Fiancé Jeremy John Sparks, and Kaitlin Michele Moore and fiancé Joshua Lee Funk; eight nephews, Harrison David Lowe, Asher James Lowe, Colin McMannus-Prato, Drew Bauer, Derek Bauer, Marley Sparks, Liam Sparks, and Sage Funk; and niece, Lily Bauer.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father; Maternal grandparents, Henry and Rosemary Williams; Paternal Grandfather, Charles Prato, Sr.; and Mother-in-law Kathryn Moore.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 10 a.m., at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave, Hagerstown, MD. Father Martin S. Nocchi will be celebrant.

Family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 7 p.m.
