Richard Charles Lounsbury, affectionately known as Chuck to family and friends, lost his courageous three and a half year battle with cancer on March 6, 2014. He was born on May 1, 1938 in New York City, New York to the late Edward and late Helen Lounsbury. He had many fond childhood memories of spending time with family on Solomons Island, Maryland. He proudly served his country as a pilot for the US Navy on the USS Forrestal where he flew an F-4 fighter jet. After leaving the military, he worked as a structural engineer for several large projects, including the construction of the Twin Towers in New York City. Never one to sit still, he continued to work in his later years as the maintenance facilitator at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Janice Lounsbury, of Frederick, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Stephen Lounsbury.
