Ronald Joseph Zvolenski, 67, of Braddock Heights, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Citizens Nursing Home after enduring a long illness. Born in Western Pennsylvania, outside Uniontown, he was the son of the late John and Helen Zvolenski. Ron attended German Township High School and later business school in Pittsburgh. He met his wife Linda Geese at a Pittsburgh Pirates game at Forbes Field. He was the manager at the K-Mart on Route 40 in Frederick and later became a sales representative for Fisher Lang Co., also in Frederick, where he made many lifelong friends. He was known for his contagious laugh and sense of humor. |
Ron was a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church and the Elks Club. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, in particular the Steelers. Ron enjoyed golfing, traveling, making new friends and spending time with his family. During his illness, his extended family at Citizens Nursing Home dedicated many years of loving care.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Zvolenski; sister Karen Kassis of Clarksburg, WV; son Matthew Zvolenski and his wife Jill of San Diego, California; daughter Tamara Bird and her husband John of Bethesda, Maryland, and their two children Joseph and Fiona. He is predeceased by his brother John Zvolenski who lived in Dallas, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at Middletown United Methodist Church, 7108 Fern Ct., Middletown, MD 21769 on Friday, April 11th at 1:00 PM. The family will receive guests at church at Noon.
