Don Husband passed away on May 24, 2914, at the age of 95. Don lived a very full life and, until several years ago, was on the tennis court or the golf course several times each week. He and his wife Arlene led a very active life and have many, many friends. With a wonderful sense of humor and amazing charm, he was a delight to be around. Don was part of the "Greatest Generation" proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps first as a navigator, then as a DC-3 pilot in the South Pacific during World War II. Don loved California and settled in Burlingame, having passed through the Bay Area heading to the battlefront from his home town of Seattle. He and his first wife Joan had two boys, eventually settling in Fresno. Don sold air conditioning so being in Fresno made a lot of sense. Joan died in the 80's and a few years later he met Arlene on the tennis court. They were a couple for several years and then decided to marry. It was the best thing they ever did. Don leaves behind his immediate family, his wife, Arlene; sons, Tom and Jeffrey; granddaughter, Annie Bousquet and her husband Mitch; great-grandsons, Brady and Everett and daughter-in-law Margaret. There are also a number of nieces and nephews and about a bazillion friends. We will all miss him terribly. A Celebration of Don's Life is planned for Saturday, July 12, 2014, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Fig Garden Swim and Racquet Club. Mark your calendar.
