Jack, a resident of Manteca, CA, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Kaiser Hospital in Manteca, CA. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Jack battled nobly his affliction with Myasthenia Gravis for several years, however, his final battle was lost to a stroke. Jack is predeceased by his dear grandson, Raymond; parents, Ida and Henry; and brother Raymond. Jack was the beloved husband to Clairene (Machado) Petersen, formerly of Los Banos, Ca; loving father of Brad of San Jose, CA, Kirk of Jindabyne, Australia, and Derek of Manteca, CA; loving grandpa to Nicole, Danielle, Anthony, Jessica, Carrine, Kaycee, Jacob, and Sarah; loving brother to Pete Petersen of San Jose. Jack was born in San Francisco, lived his early days in Fresno, raised his family, owned a business in San Jose, and lived the last seven years in Manteca, Ca. Jack owned Petersen Brothers General Engineering, in Campbell, CA with his brother Pete Petersen, for roughly 50 years. The business was a true family business where the labor force at one time was comprised of Jack's three boys and Pete's three boys. The families share fond memories of two close families working together and spending time together. Jack spent his last working years estimating at Galante Brothers in San Jose, where he was made to feel very appreciated and like a member of another family. He will be long remembered as an exemplary man with exceptional talents and disposition. He was incessantly positive and upbeat to those around him. He was intelligent, bright, funny, and a talented snow skier. He loved chocolate, children, animals, nice cars, snow skiing and a good joke. Jack was a member of the Operating Engineers, Elks Lodge, and Porsche Club. A Celebration of Jack's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Glen Church, 2700 Booksin Avenue, San Jose, 95125. Donations to your favorite charity are preferred.
