Pete passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2014. His life was full, complex, and varied. He gave up a promising career as a band singer and actor to serve his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. Being touched by poetry during the war, he changed his path, choosing to share his passion for literature with others. Following an extensive education, he continued his service as a high school teacher for 33 years. He declined offers of university professorship, preferring to remain at the crossroads, guiding and enriching young minds.
