Constance C. Stemsrud "Connie", age 99, died on Sunday January 12, 2014, at Larchwood Inns.
Services will be held at the First Congregational UCC Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31st, with Pastor Dan Wilkie officiating.
Connie was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 26, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. John Crysler. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1935, and married Dr. Harold Stemsrud in 1937. Dr. Stemsrud practiced medicine in Alexandria, MN. He passed away in 1990.
In 1999, Connie moved to Grand Junction, CO to be near her children, Dr. Robert Stemsrud of Farmington, NM and Jane Stemsrud of Basalt CO, through whom she had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Grand Junction relatives Dean and Sharon Crysler, Amanda Crysler and Amelia Sanchez.
In Grand Junction, she was active in the Congregational UCC Church (where she became the first Archivist), PEO chapter GF, AAUW book and bridge groups, and several golf groups.
Arrangements are being made by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO.
