George William Brown, Jr. September 23, 1923 – January 21, 2013 George William Jr, entered into rest Monday, January 21, 2013, in Roseville, CA, age 89. George was a native of Boyd, TX born on a Tuesday, September 23, 1923, and a resident of Rocklin, CA. George was the beloved husband of Jeni Brown for 61 years; devoted father of Darcy (Jim) Goodwin and Betsy (Dave) Ennis, and loving grandfather of Grant Ennis, Genevieve Ennis, Taylor Goodwin and Andie Goodwin. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Ron Johnson of Navato, CA. He is preceded in death by both parents, George and Eula (Jackson) Brown, one brother and one sister. George is a veteran of WWII, where he served four years in the European Theatre. He was a Free Mason of Mesa Lodge #55 as well as a deacon at First Christian Church in Grand Junction, CO. He graduated from North Side High School and Texas Christian University, class of 1950, in Ft. Worth, TX. He was also a five year pro football player in the AFC, NFL and CFL. George was very proud to be a Texan, T.C.U. Frog Alumni, Co-Captain of the football team, also the president of the "T" Club. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26th at Covenant Church in Rocklin and a private graveside at Rocklin Cemetery in Rocklin, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the TCU Athletic Scholarship Fund: TCU Box 297140, Fort Worth Texas, 76129.
