I.D. Gleason, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, just one month short of his 81st birthday. He was the youngest of eight children born to Kirk I. and Lucy (Bell) Gleason on Dec. 25, 1931 in Eskridge, KS.

I.D. joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 and served as a barber during the Korean Conflict. His tour of duty included time aboard an aircraft carrier, the USS Bataan; and two destroyer tenders, the USS Piedmont and the USS Prairie; and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Miramar, CA and a communication station in Adak, AK.

I.D. married Elaine N. Deines on Nov. 22, 1953, and they settled in Denver, CO after his honorable discharge in 1957. Elaine and I.D. retired to Tucson, AZ, in 1994, relocating permanently to Green Valley, AZ in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; daughter, Janet McNally (husband Jude), Tucson, AZ; son Michael (wife Kris, children Jack, Wyat, and Sam), Arvada, CO; two granddaughters, Robin Fuller (husband Luke, children Aiden, Rian, and Nathan), Camarillo, CA; Jaimie Reaves, Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by one sister, Betty Hayes of Emporia KS, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of I.D.'s life will be held at a later date.
