Jane Robinett Hegre of Green Valley, AZ, with family at her side, died at her home on Jan. 17, 2014 at the age of 57. She was born on Feb. 5, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio.
Jane received her AA degree in dental assisting from the University of Minnesota and a BA degree in dental hygiene from the University of Rhode Island. Her practice in Dentistry spanned over three decades. Her patients fondly referred to her as "gentle Jane."
Jane and Orie met in 1978 and were married on July 3, 1981. She brought her dog Gorbie and the shedding of hair to the relationship; Orie brought three young children and the shredding of nerves. It all worked out, somehow. Over time they added five more dogs, a couple of cats and the three stepchildren Jane helped to raise made a contribution of eight grandchildren to the crew.
Together, Jane and Orie "almost finished" building a lake home in western Minnesota. They traveled to Australia on sabbatical leave, visited Europe a couple of times, vacationed in Belize, the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica a number of times. In addition to Minnesota, the two lived in Providence, RI, Denver, CO, Tustin Ranch, CA, finally settling in Green Valley, AZ for the past 20 years. Their last adventure consisted of a three-week road trip in a 30-foot motor home (often on the narrowest of roads at the most sobering elevations) touring the National Parks of Utah and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Besides the art of a dental hygienist, Jane practiced the art of a potter. For a number of years, she was an active member of the Green Valley Clay Club. Jane trained in the field at St. Cloud State University, MN. She had her own wheel and kiln and produced hundreds of pieces of beautiful functional ware that still reside in the kitchens and living rooms of friends and family.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Orion Donald Hegre; her father, Carl Lee Robinett of Green Valley; her sister, Terri Lee Robinett of Scottsdale, AZ; her brother, Todd Walter Robinett and sister-in-law Pam Robinett of Mound, MN; her niece, Nikki Robinett of Denver, CO; her nephew, Tory Robinett of Salt Lake City, UT; her sister-in-law, Carol Hegre of Green Valley; her three stepchildren and eight grandchildren, all living in MN: Jill Healy and family; Jennifer Knutson and family; and Orion T. Hegre and family; and the latest canine additions to the Hegre family, Maggie and Millie.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Robinett.
A private celebration of Jane's life will be held at a future date. Please direct any memorial to the Animal League of Green Valley.
Orion and Jane's family wish to thank the myriad of health professionals who helped in Jane's successful eight-year journey, not limited to but including: Dr. Bruce Porterfield, Diane, Janet, Mary Beth, Carmen, Joyce and all the Green Valley Arizona Oncology staff; the "most generous" Billie Baker at Desert Rose Therapeutic Massage; Stuart Rodes of the Three Circles Acupuncture Clinic; the staff at Radiology Limited; and the Agape Hospice Care staff.

Only in dreams "in beautiful dreams.
