Matthew Medina, son of Cresencio and Felipita Medina, passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Friday morning, July 11, 2014, due to complications of surgery, at the age of 84 wonderful years.

Born in Bonanza, Colo., on April 15, 1930, attending his school years in Leadville, Colo. After school, he joined the Coast Guard and then the Air Force, where he retired as SMSgt., after serving his country for 36 years. He served his country well in Taiwan, Dominican Republic, Panama, Argentina, Vietnam as well as his family, neighbors and friends. Settling in Green Valley, Ariz., with his loving wife, Carol, in 1984. He enjoyed his game of golf as well as bowling. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; daughters Robin Cain (Bob) of Green Valley, Ariz., Carolyn Moselle (Robert) of Seattle, Wash., sons Matt Medina (Jeanie) of Tucson, Ariz., and Ed Medina (Trish) of Denver, Colo. He has 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with another one on the way, and devoted brother Richard Medina (Angie) of Denver, Colo.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 505 N. La Canada Drive, Green Valley.
