Roxanne Aiken died Aug. 31, 2014, at the age of 64 at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego surrounded both physically and in spirit by those who loved her. Her 27-year battle with stage four breast cancer finally took too much of a toll on her physically, although she remained mentally sharp to the very end.

Roxanne was a much-beloved member of the Green Valley community. She was the property manager and did the commercial leasing at the Continental Shopping Plaza for over 30 years, and she was very popular among her tenants and vendors. She was an avid quilter, a skilled tapestry weaver, a successful gardener and a fine baker. Above all, Roxanne devoted her life to being a wonderful mother and a loyal friend."Roxanne was known for saying that the present is all you have. She completed her life's mission and tried to be fair, kind and loving. She left this life the way she lived it " with strength and a sense of humor. She was a teacher of wisdom in this world, and everyone she came into contact with were truly better people for having her in their lives. She will be most conspicuous in her absence."She is survived by her daughter, Rachel, and her granddaughter, Veronika, who will be born in January.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be sent to Rachel Aiken, 4785A 35th Ave. South, Seattle, WA 98118.
