Gainesville - Betty Anne Parish Graham, a long-time resident of Gainesville, died March 27, 2013, at Wesley Woods in Newnan, Georgia, where she had lived since April of 2009.

Betty Anne was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She spent many summers in Daytona, attended Stetson University majoring in music, and married a Florida native and graduate of the University of Florida, Raymond "Doc" Graham in January 1943. The couple were stationed in Norman, Oklahoma, and Oakland, California. After returning to Atlanta after the war, their love affair with Florida continued as they lived a year in Leesburg, before moving to Gainesville in 1951, where they resided until April of 2009.

Betty Anne was a devoted wife and mother. She was president of the J.J. Finley PTA and for several years the head of the committee for the Finley Fall Fiesta. She was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years, a Boy Scout den mother, a supporter of athletics and the arts. She played piano for the Pofahl Dance Studio and was the manager of the Colony Credit Union at Sunland for over 20 years

Betty Anne and Doc, her husband of 67 years, enjoyed entertaining, gourmet cooking, collecting art, supporting the U of F gymnastics teams, and traveling.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Martha Parish of Highlands, North Carolina, her daughter Patricia Graham of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and her son and daughter-in-law Kerry and Phyllis Graham of Newnan, Georgia

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 9:00 am in the Chapel in the Meadows at Forest Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gainesville Civic Ballet, 1325 N W 2nd Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601-2209 or to a .
