PETERSEN, ERIC DANA, 65

Gainesville - Eric Dana Petersen, 65, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Fl. Mr. Petersen was born in Syracuse, NY on October 28, 1948. He grew up in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the University of Florida and was a retired military veteran. A registered pharmacist since 1976, his free time was spent researching family history, stamp and coin collecting, and singing. He was a longtime member of the Loft Choir at University UMC and the Barbergators. In the last few years he sang with the chancel choir at First UMC. During Gator baseball season you could find him in his seat over the dugout.

He is survived by his mother Janice Petersen, his sister Lee Petersen Hancock (Wynn), his wife Pamela Schoneman Petersen, sons Anthony Petersen, Jeremy Petersen (Amy), and Heath Petersen, three grandsons Gregory, Andrew, and Matthew Petersen, two of Pam's aunts Joan and Judy Greenwood, and two nieces and a nephew.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 9th, at 2:00 PM at the Gator Wesley Foundation, 1380 W. University Avenue, Gainesville, FL, with Rev. Narcie Jeter officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Gator Wesley Foundation at the address above.
