Gainesville - Ernest Long, age 71, Retired Airline Mechanic, former City of Gainesville Policeman, US Air Force Veteran & 1960 Graduate of Lincoln High School who later attended the University of Florida, unexpectedly left us on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral Services (with Military Honors) will be held 3:00PM Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Greater Liberty Hill United Methodist Church (Gainesville, FL) where Rev. J. D. Johnson is Pastor & Officiant, with Dr. Willie E. Caison as Eulogist. Burial will follow at Greater Liberty Hill Cemetery. Mr. Long will be viewed at the Funeral Home on Friday 2:00-7:00PM - At the Church on Saturday 30 Minutes prior to the Services - And with the Processional. The Procession will form at the residence of his Daughter - June Long (& Reginald Jackson), 3020 NE 11th Drive, Gainesville, at 2:15PM.

Those left to cherish his memory are: daughters - June Long (& Reginald Jackson) and Gabriel Long; step daughter - Bonnie Taylor; mother - Zadie Boston Peterson; father - Henry Long (Deceased); siblings - McAllister Walker, Bernard Long, Apostle Ron Thomas - deceased, Henry Long Jr. (& Pam), Henrietta Hall (& Min. Eli), Pastor Kathy Long Richardson (& Larry); 3 grands; 1 great grandson; aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews; family; caregiver - Marquette Taylor; & friends.
