TAYLOR, LARRY WILSON
High Springs - Larry Wilson Taylor passed away March 8, 2014 peacefully in his home with his family members in attendance. Larry was born September 30, 1939 in Largo, Florida to Ray and Rosalie Taylor.
After attending the University of Florida Larry joined the BELK-LINDSEY stores as a Men's buyer for 16 years in the Gainesville area before owning and operating Taylor's Men Shop in High Springs for seven years. He joined the Ministerial staff of First Baptist Church of Stuart in 1983 and retired in 2005 as Administrator of First Baptist Stuart Christian School and Associate Pastor. Larry also enjoyed more than four years of post retirement working at Walgreen's as a service clerk before having to retire due to sickness. Larry loved being with his children, grandchildren and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda; two daughters Leslie Thomas (Wayne) of Gainesville, Jerri Chesney (Bill) of Tallahassee; and a son, Lee Taylor (Heather) of Marietta, GA; his father Ray; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on March 11 at 12 noon at North Central Baptist Church, 1008 NW 23 Ave., with visitation with family one hour prior. Pastor Calvin Carr will be officiating.
