RADACKY, MINNIE, 96
Williston - Minnie Radacky age 96, passed away at her home Friday December 6th, 2013, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born at Elzey, Florida she came to Williston in 1945 from Wilmington, Del. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1935. She graduated from nurses training at Memorial Hospital in Ocala, Fla. Following graduation from nurses training she was employed as a Staff Duty Nurse, at Waterman Hospital in Eustis, Fla. Lakeland General Hospital in Lakeland, and Munroe Memorial in Ocala. In 1945 she became a Public Health Nurse with the Levy County Health Dept. In 1948 she resigned from the Health Dept. and became Hospital Administrator and Chief Nurse of the City of Williston Hospital. In 1948 she returned to the Levy County Health Dept.
She attended the University of Florida at night and in 1963 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. In 1979 she retired from Levy County Health Dept. as Nursing Director following 32 years of public service to Levy County.
Minnie was a member of the First Bapt. Church in Williston and taught Sunday School there for 58 years. She was an avid fisherman, was a member of the Peacemaker quilting club and member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are: two sons: Henry Michael (Kathy) Radacky and Richard Wesley (Karen) Radacky; two grandsons: Benjamin and Wesley Radacky; two great-grandsons: Jared and Brandon Radacky; brother-in-law: Hank Radacky.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday Dec. 10th 10:30 a.m. at the First Bapt. Church in Williston. Visitation will be Mon. Dec.9th from 6-8 p.m. at Knauff Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home- Williston.
