MANNS, ROY "CHET"
Gainesville - Mr. Roy "Chet" Manns passed away July 5, 2014 at his home. Mr. Manns was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, a graduate of Hawthorne High School, class of 1972, Santa Fe Community College with an Associate's Degree, the Gainesville Police Academy, and the Masonic Lodge Goins#94. Mr. Manns was employed with Shands Hospital UF as a Security Guard, and was a retired Gainesville Police Officer.
He is survived by his wife Lottye E. Manns, Gainesville, FL, children: Latoya Branch, Brandye Manns, Domineque Manns, all of Gainesville; Roy C. Manns, II (Sharon), Clearwater, FL, Chadrick Manns, Davita Easton, Tiffany Manns, Chasidy Jones (Clarence), all of Gainesville, FL, Vernon Bryant (Tonya), Tampa, FL, Anthony McGlocking, Summerfield, FL, Donnie Edwards, Charlotte, NC, Brenna Manns, Lady Lake, FL, mother; Ella Mae Baskin, Gainesville, FL, siblings: Cynthia Branch-Robertson (Bobby), Rosetta Branch-Haines. Hollie Graham (Leroy), Alice Peterson-Jackson (Robert), Colasa Edwards (Karen), Roosevelt Branch, Jr. all of Gainesville, FL, Albert Mann, Jr. (Valencia), Hawthorne, FL, Gregory T. Funeral Services for Mr. Manns will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Pastor, Dan Johnson, Minister, Rev. Joseph Brown, Eulogist; burial will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park East. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32601.
Mr. Manns will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2:00 until 7:00pm, and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of service. Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Manns, 116 N.E. 48th Terrace, Gainesville, at 10:00am to form the cortege.
