"Tontee" had a friendly approach to life and many creative characteristics. She loved to cook, loved the beach, nature and loved her music of all styles. In addition she wrote poetry over the years and, most recently had been working on a project with the University of Florida Oral History department's Veterans History Project. Her role was writing poetry that reflected the interviews and provided a constructive perspective of possible feelings and emotions of the interviewed veteran from WWII as well as Korea and Vietnam. These interviews along with Tontee's poetry will be available on the Internet and at the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida.

She was reflective, intense and engaged others with her sense of humor. She will be missed. Donations can be made to the Gainesville Opportunity Center,
