Suwannee - Bill Sloan passed away on May 30, 2014, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after an extended illness.

Bill was a lifetime resident of Florida. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and worked as a personal banker for thirty-three years, followed by five years with the property appraiser's office, until his retirement in 1997.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and water sports. He held a private and commercial airline pilot's license. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Off Shore Fishing Club.

Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his father, Stanley D. Sloan and his mother, Irene Sloan.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Kathryn C. Sloan, his son, K. Wayne (Carole) Sloan, his brother, Joel (Susan) Sloan, granddaughters, Rachel (Jeremy) Clements, Esther (Mitch) Mallard, three great grandchildren, Jonathan, Emma and Lucas Clements and his nephew, Steven Sloan and nieces, Susan S. Copeland and Noel S. Haney.

The family would like to thank the dedicated medical personnel, especially the nurses for providing exceptional care to Bill throughout his illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Sloan will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the or the .
