"BILL" LEE, 64
Gainesville - Dr. William "Bill" Lee Lynn, 64, lifelong resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 in the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
Dr. Lynn was born December 14, 1948 in Gainesville, Florida, graduated from Gainesville High School, and was then drafted into the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he served as a special forces medic. He then began attending class at the University of Florida, earning a bachelor's degree in Zoology and in Pharmacy, later obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Dr. Lynn worked as a pharmacist at Shands Hospital and later at Pic-N-Save, before ill health forced his retirement in 1992. He was a NAUI certified scuba diver and a proud member of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Hunt Lynn, a brother, Ronald Lynn and by his son, Matthew Lynn.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret "Meg" Lynn; his daughter and future son-in-law, Becky Lynn and Brandon Starr; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Melissa Lynn; his father, Lucien Lynn; and by one grandson, Chase Lynn.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M., in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St., with his son, Mr. Joseph Lynn, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Countryside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
