Eugenia Annette Edwards Waugh passed from this life on January 3, 2013. Eugenia (JeanneAnn) was born in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago, on October 9, 1921. After graduation from New Trier High School, she attended Monticello College and Northwestern University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. During the early 1950s, she attended Arizona State University in Tucson, Arizona where she obtained her teaching certificate in Elementary Education. On returning to Colorado Springs where family members were living, she taught in School District 11 for several years. Her leisure activities included horseback riding, reading, and travel. She included many fine pets in her time on earth. During her life, she also traveled to Europe, Canada, and visited relations on the East Coast. For 51 years she made her home in her beloved Austin Bluffs neighborhood. She is survived by a daughter: Kymberly Janis Waugh, two nieces: Betsy Stegeman, Salle Howes, and a nephew: Peter Slothower. Services will be at 11:30 on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Swan-Law Funeral Home followed by a reception at her home on Marilyn Road.
