Frances I. "Fran" Anderson, 84, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Fran was born on October 7, 1928, in Caldwell, Kansas and moved with her family to Denver in 1936. She graduated from Denver's South High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Denver in 1950. She married H. Carl Anderson in June 1950. Fran worked as a home economics teacher in Denver until her children were born. In 1970, the family moved to Grand Lake, Colorado where Fran earned a real estate broker's license and worked with her husband in their business, Columbine Lake Realty. After Fran and her husband retired, they split their time between Grand Lake and Littleton. In 2011, they moved to Colorado Springs to be near their daughter. At the time of her death, Fran lived at MacKenzie Place in Colorado Springs. Fran was an active member of her sorority, Sigma Kappa, and its alumni clubs in Denver and Colorado Springs. She loved to dance, read, scrapbook, hike, and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a long-time member and past president of the Grand County Board of Realtors and the Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District Board in Grand Lake. Fran supported one of her favorite causes by walking in the 2010 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer with her daughters and granddaughter. Fran is survived by her loving husband, Carl, and her three children: Janna (Richard) Sampson, of Lisle, Illinois; Richard (Melanie) Anderson, of Larkspur, Colorado; and Patricia (Henry) Reitwiesner, of Colorado Springs. She also is survived by her four grandchildren: Lauren Sampson of Hoboken, New Jersey; Matthew Sampson of San Diego, California; and Theodore and Thomas Reitwiesner of Colorado Springs. Fran was preceded in death by her parents: James Edward and Leah Friend Isenhart; and her three brothers: James Edward "Jim" Isenhart, Harold Ernest "Bill" Isenhart and Thomas Earl Isenhart. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Avon Foundation for Women to support breast cancer research, treatment and education. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm Friday, March 22, at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Colorado Springs followed by a Celebration of Life reception at MacKenzie Place.
