Gerald Ross Domer left this world on June 26, 2013. Jerry was 69 years, 11 months, and 12 days old. Jerry was born on July 14, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa to Dayton and Joyce Domer (Whitman). Both precede him in death. Jerry lived all but the last three months of his life in eastern Iowa. As a young man, he worked side-by-side on the farm with his father. He graduated from Clinton High School. Jerry served in the army and was a soldier in Vietnam. He was awarded the silver star. Jerry raised Belgians, Percherons and mules. He was a heavy equipment operating engineer with local 115. He loved to operate the big cranes. One of Jerry's greatest passions was riding his Harley. He moved to Colorado Springs on March 24 of this year in hopes of getting well enough to ride his Harley through the Rocky Mountains again. Jerry was a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Lorie Faye Domer and her three children: Taylor Ann, Brooke, and Memphis of Bellevue, Iowa; his son, Damien Dayton Domer (Catherine); and their three children: Vanessa, Brooke and Annabelle of Mascoutah, IL. Jerry was a wonderful brother. He will be missed by his sisters: Cindy (Jerry), Pat, Ranelda (Larry) and Jessica; and his brothers: Gene and Doug (Lori); many, many nieces and nephews and cousins; and his ex-wife, Barbra Domer. Jerry is preceded in death by his grandson, Dagan Domer; daugher-in-law, Lisa Domer; and sister, Jo Anna Ostrander. We will miss his stories, his colorful language and his strength and determination. HE WAS ONE OF A KIND! No services are planned at this time.
