John passed away May 7, 2014 at
in Gilbert, AZ. He moved to Arizona in June of 2013 to be near family.

John, an only child, was born in Emporia, Kansas to Thomas E. Bailey and Nellie V. Davis.
He attended Emporia schools, joined the ROTC and loved music. John played violin, in high school when a tuba player was needed for the marching band, John learned to play the tuba to fill that spot.
He attended Emporia State Teachers College & joined the National Guard. Before WWII John enlisted in the Army Air Force. He was stationed in Santa Ana, California, where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant.
Following his service in the Army, John graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in airport management and later a degree in accounting.
John moved to Colorado Springs in 1953 where he worked for the accounting firm of Trickak, Trainer, and Tillman and later became a partner.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Helen Marie Bailey and his son Kevin Kendall Bailey.
John is survived by his daughters Peggy Lewis & Kristi Miller, his granddaughters Lindsay Rios and Kelsey Miller, a great grandson, Massimo Allen Rios, his wife Helen's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service for John will be held on June 30, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance at 1730 Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado.
