Luis, son of Guillermo Bumanglag and Cristina Daoang Bumanglag, was born in Waialua, Hawaii. Luis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who gave his all to his family. Although born in Hawaii, Luis's parents moved back to Ilocos Norte on Luzon in their native Philippine Islands, where Luis was raised along with his 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He married his wife Filomena Butay on May 17, 1947. In December 1950, after having spent time as a laborer in Hawaii and California, he joined the US Army and began his service to his country. Luis was an honored veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his career in the Army, he was employed at the US Air Force Academy, where he enjoyed greeting and serving cadets in the cadet dining hall. From growing up in the Philippines to his experiences in the Army and at the USAFA, Luis acquired a great love for travel and geography and he was quite adept at cherishing and remembering the people he met along his journey in life. Most of all Luis was always there for his family and he gave his utmost devotion to his (predeceased) wife of 62 years, along with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by daughter Terri (husband Fred) Fellman, son James (wife Dale), daughter Rose (husband Mike) McGinn, son David (wife Kara), grandchildren George (Amy), Michael (Heather), Robert, Ryan, Luke and Meg, great grandchildren Kaylee, Jenna, Alexia and Cassidy, sister Flora Corpuz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
