Raymond Westley Headley was born on October 20, 1923 during a blizzard on his family's farm in Norton, Kansas to Lawrence and Bertha (Murdock) Headley. He had 7 siblings, William Franklin, Elmer Dale, Pearl Nellie Mae, Delmer Dewayne, Eva June and Twila Rose.

He proudly joined the Army on February 9, 1943 where he served 8 years during WWII in Germany and France. He received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, American Defense, 2 occupational medals, and many others.
He married the love of his life, Vida Verona Neel on September 22, 1949 in Colorado Springs. They were married 47 years until her passing on December 30, 1996.
He was the proud father of 4 children, Raymond Westley (wife, Ellen) Headley, Jr., of Swing; Cynthia Marie (husband, Doug) Headley Smith of Raton, New Mexico; Marsha Louella (husband, Audie) Headley Green of Allen, Texas; and Clifford L. (wife, Carla) Headley of Fountain, Colorado. He has 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Fountain Valley Baptist Church, 500 Alabama Avenue, Fountain, Colorado 80817. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Raymond's name may be made to help transitioning veterans through Forward Operating Base, P.O. Box 932, Buena Vista, Colorado 81211.
