Stanton Sill passed away peacefully on February 2, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Kent, Ohio and moved to Ashtabula, Ohio where he met and married his wife Katherine Helm in April of 1952.

He earned his electrical engineering degree from Purdue University in Indiana in 1950. He was a commissioned officer in the US Army Artillery branch and was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA; Ft. Bragg, NC; Ft. Wainwright, AK and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was a decorated Korean War veteran earning the Bronze Star with "V" and was awarded the Purple Heart.

After Army service, he worked for the Montana Power Company from 1957 - 1969. Choosing to work for the US Air Force as an electrical engineer, he took a job in Anchorage, AK, followed by jobs in Germany (twice), California and Colorado, where they enjoyed traveling and seeing Europe and the USA. He had a love of gardening, travel, US History and fishing. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1985 and he retired from Civil Service in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Elmer and Bertha Sill) and is survived by a brother Winfield Sill (Corliss), his wife Katherine, sons David, and John (Kathy) and daughter Martha (Jesse). He had five grandchildren, Andrea, Christopher, Steven, Patrick and Katie.

He was a long-standing Elder serving with the First Presbyterian Church in Missoula, MT and Village 7 Presbyterian Church, Colorado Springs, CO.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Village 7 Presbyterian Church, 1:00pm. Burial will take place at a later date.
