Willis C. Fredericks was born July 28, 1932 and passed away February 16, 2014. He was born in Quincy, Illinois to Carl and Freda Fredericks. His family moved to Colorado Springs in 1943, where he attended Ivywild and Garfield elementary schools, North Junior High School and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1950. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He then became associated with architectural firms in Illinois where he assumed the responsibilities of project architect for significant educational and industrial projects throughout the state. In 1983 he opened his own office in Ottawa, IL, specializing in commercial and institutional projects. He was a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects and was certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He retired in 2002 and moved back to Colorado Springs in 2006.

He married Mary Jane Tapscott in 1953 with whom he had three children; Susan (Jeff) Baldwin of Rockford, IL, David Fredericks of Champaign, IL and Mark (Teresa) Fredericks of Champaign,IL, who survive him. In 1974 he married Rosalind Perry Schlink who passed away in 2004.
He is also survived by his cherished companion, Ann H. Van Sant of Colorado Springs, his step-daughter, Diedre Rossiter of Ottawa, IL. two sisters, Virginia Steiner of Quincy, IL. and Viola (Ben) Hamner of Banning, CA., seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Harvey Fredericks.
