Polson —Georgia (G.G.) Lee Forney, 83, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend, passed away on April 28, 2014 with her family by her side. G.G. was born on February 20, 1931 in Great Falls, MT to Marion and Elsa (Soderstrom) Hansen. G.G. attended Roosevelt, Paris Gibson and Great Falls High Schools and graduated in June 1949. She married her lifetime love, Donald Forney, two weeks after she graduated high school on June 19, 1949. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Linda (Will) Thrasher, and Pamela (Denny) Prinzing.
G.G. worked at The Hub Thiestad in high school and later the Great Falls Clinic. She was one of the first members of the Great Falls Figure Skating Club. She spent many hours volunteering as a counselor for the Farmers Union Camp, and as a Girl Scout leader. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile and PEO Chapter BD.
Don and G.G enjoyed a long and active social life which included dancing at the Elks Lodge. She was known for her keen abilities to waltz, polka and schottische. She and Don were very active members of the Shrine. They traveled to Kansas, Washington and to California for their honeymoon. Later they spent time in Arizona and Nevada. They also enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean and Mexico. G.G enjoyed her summers on Flathead Lake most of all. Her summers on the lake were filled with building memories with her brother and sisters, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. G.G touched many lives in her many years.
G.G was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, John. She is survived by her loving husband, Don and her two daughters, Linda and Pam; grandchildren Cindy (Ryon) Noland, Candi (Jay) Shalz, Brandon (Jenn) Prinzing, Dustin Prinzing, Cameron Prinzing, and Katelyn Prinzing as well as great grandchildren Jack Noland, Rylee Shalz, Kodee Shalz, Maddie Prinzing, Mia Prinzing and Mikko Prinzing. She is also survived by her sisters, MaryAnn Iodence, Alda (Chet) Hewes, and Karen (Butch) Pannage and sister in law Pat Hansen as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Elbon Club in Great Falls. A memorial service is planned for May 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Elks Club in Great Falls.
