Gary Charles Brodock, 65, of Great Falls, died of cancer Saturday, Oct. 6, at Peace Hospice.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. A celebration of his life is 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Fairfield Community Hall, Fairfield.

Gary was born in Great Falls on Feb. 21, 1947, to Sheldon and Mable (Hodson) Brodock. He graduated from CMR High School and shortly thereafter joined the Navy, where he was introduced to his lifelong love of cooking. He spent the majority of his life traveling the world as a galley cook on various types of boats and as a hunting guide. He was a very loyal fan of the Fairfield Eagles and Montana Grizzlies, and loved going to as many games as possible.

All who met Gary quickly discovered his unique sense of humor and strong opinions. He loved his family and was fiercely protective of his girls. He was truly loved and will be missed by many. He spent his last days at Peace Hospice surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his sister Shelda (Duane) Oglesby of Aloha, Ore.; his daughters, Dalene (Scott) Sorenson of Owatonna, Minn., Marci (Jeremy) Gunnell, Sara Brodock, Jessica Brodock and Josi Brodock of Great Falls; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Morgan.

Memorials may be made to Fairfield High School Athletic Department, PO Box 339, Fairfield, MT 59436.
