Browning —Gerald Robert Silvas "Bud," 86, passed away Monday, February 10th at his home.
He was born to Elvira Goss and Antonio Silvas in Blackfoot, MT on Oct. 11, 1927. At the age of 16 he joined the Navy serving in WWII. After serving proudly, he then served in the Air Force in Korea before returning to the Browning area. An electrician most of his life he worked for the Blackfeet Tribe, for the Blackfeet Pencil Company and retired from the Tribe as their electrical inspector.
He enjoyed working with wood, he was a true artist building birdhouses and many other wood projects. He also liked to fish in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Earl Anthony Silvas and sister Ramona Goss Davis.
Survivors include his nephew Wayne Silvas; nieces Patricia LaPlant, Jeanie Whiting, Barbara Grealish, Shelly (Kevin) McKee and Sharon Silvas.
A traditional wake started at the family home on Wednesday with services at the Methodist Church in Browning on Friday at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.fosterfhandcrematory.com
