Michael R. Bauch
Great Falls —Michael Ray Bauch, 55, of Great Falls, died at his home on January 23, 2014 of a heart related condition. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held Tuesday, January 28 at 11 am at Highland Cemetery with a reception to follow at VFW Post 1087, 4123 10th Ave S.
Michael was born July 15, 1958 to Julius and Mildred (Stokes) Bauch in Prosser, Washington and raised in Belt and Great Falls. He obtained his GED and enlisted in the Army in 1976, where he received additional college education. He was a Desert Storm vet, Airborne paratrooper and Drill Instructor. He was always taking care of his troops! After retiring from the Army in 1996, Mike worked as a carpenter until 2010 and then as a custodian at CM Russell High School from 2012 until his passing. He was a lifetime member and supporter of multiple veteran associations.
Nothing was more important to Mike than his military career, family and friends. He was a friend to all, loved to cook, have a beer or whiskey, and just visit. Some said he was a true hill-billy! He was very loved. His family in Montana was glad to have spent the last two and a half years with him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jane Lorraine Larkin Bauch; father Julis R. Bauch of Kennewick, WA; daughter Ginger Ann Bauch of Richmond Hill, GA; son Michael Edward Bauch of Reno, NV; granddaughter Victoria Ann-Marie Bauch of Reno, NV; sisters Betsy Olney (Bebee Denz) of Snohomish, WA; Kathy (Ben) Flanagan of Great Falls, Marcia (Roy) Yurt of Park City, MT, Nancy Gilles of Great Falls, Susan Buddle of Kennewick, WA, Rita K. (Nick) Rossi of San Diego, CA; sister-in-laws Merrilee Bauch and Donna Bauch, both of Great Falls; brothers Terry (Evelyn) Bauch of Great Falls, Monty Bauch of Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Those who have preceded him in death include his mother, Mildred Stokes Bauch; brothers Bill and James; and nephew Zane Miller.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Veteran's Memorial for purchasing a plaque to honor Mike, in care of Croxford Funeral Home, 1307 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401.
