Cheyenne, WY —Terry Lee Phillips, 64, passed away on October 4, 2013 at his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming surrounded by his loving family after battling pancreatic cancer.
Terry was born on April 7, 1949 to Donald and Shirley (Johnson) Phillips in Cheyenne. On November 25, 1970 he married Deborah "Debby" Hennings in Cody, Wyoming. He was passionate about his career, spending more than 34 years in the fire protection service industry. Terry and his family lived for many years in Montana, where he served as a firefighter, Fire Chief, and State Fire Marshal. He moved to Cheyenne in 2003 to work for Wyoming State Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety and in 2006, he became a Regional Manager for the National Fire Sprinkler Association. He loved spending time outdoors, and he and Debby enjoyed traveling, especially to visit their children and grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife; mother Shirley Phillips Matticks; sons Donald Phillips (Selina) and Brian Phillips (Sommer); daughter Jennifer Harris (Tre); brother Doug Phillips (Teresa); and grandchildren Sheldon Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Jackson Phillips, Sydney Phillips, Parker Phillips, Olivia Phillips, John Henry Harris, and Sarah Harris.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial services will be held on Friday Oct 11 at 3:30 p.m.at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment of Terry's urn will occur in Kimball, Nebraska on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Kimball Cemetery.
