Thomas Arthur Lindgren

Thomas Arthur Lindgren, Springfield, Missouri passed away at home on Friday Feb. 3, 2012 from cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

A Graveside Service of Committal will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday July 19, 2014 at the Manchester Cemetery in Manchester, Montana.

A memorial service was held on February 13, 2012 at Central Assembly of God Church 1301 N. Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO. with Rev. Richard Schoonover officiating.

Tom and his fraternal twin brother, Henry, were born in Great Falls, Montana to George and Gertrude (Rooney) Lindgren. He was raised in Great Falls. He received degrees in chemistry; a B.S. from Montana State University in 1974 and a M.S from the University of Notre Dame in 1975. After receiving his Master's degree he joined Ford Motor Company in Detroit where he worked as a chemist in product development. Tom later received an M.B.A. from Wayne State University in 1992 and a M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Polytechnic University, Brooklyn in 1997. He earned a masters degree in accounting at Missouri State University in 2001. He graduated from Cox College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2009 and became a registered nurse.

While working in Detroit at Ford he met Norma Wright in 1993 who owned a coffee shop. They were married in 1997 and settled in Springfield, MO. Tom worked at H&R Block, the Assembly of God Headquarters, The Census Bureau, and was active as a volunteer at the Stained Glass Theatre. He was a substitute teacher at Springfield Public schools and tutored at MSU. He was an accountant at Central Assembly of God for 3 years. He worked at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center until his death.

Tom and Norma were very active in the Assembly of God Church. Norma worked at the A/G Headquarters after moving to Springfield in 1995. Tom was active in the Church as a Royal Rangers Commander, usher, greeter, and JBQ coach (with his wife). Their faith, and support from members of the congregation, gave them strength.

Tom is survived by Norma of Winter Haven, Florida, his wife of 14 years, step-daughters Kathy Dunham (Dave), Angela Millage and step-son Christopher Wright, 7 grandchildren, his sister Marilyn Lindgren of Austin, Texas, his brothers and their spouses, Douglas Lindgren (Kathy) of Austin, Henry Lindgren (Nancy) of Billings, Montana, and Frank Lindgren (Barbara Warriner) of Philadelphia, Pa., a nephew and two nieces, Alan Lindgren (Kathy) of Memphis, Tenn., Marcela Perez-Abreu, (Dave Tersteeg) of Grand Marais, MN., and Linsey Kallestad (Sage) of Manhattan, MT., and three great-nephews, Rio and Nico Perez-Abreu of Grand Marais, and Corbin Kallestad of Manhattan, and several great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lindgren of Great Falls, MT.
