Great Falls —Truman Tilleraas (91) of Great Falls MT, passed away July 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19th through Korsmo Funeral Service in Moorhead, MN with burial near Gary, MN.

Truman was born September 12, 1922 in Gary, MN to John and Manda (Wermager) Tilleraas. He served two years in the army and in 1947 he married Dorothy Hovelson. He taught high school Vocational Ag in MN for 20 years; then he was an Animal Science Professor at the UMC Crookston, MN for 19 years.

He coached many winning UMC, 4-H, and FFA judging teams and was active in the Lions Club, American Legion, Eagles, Sons of Norway, Red River Valley Winter Shows, MN State Fair FFA Sheep Show and church. He has received numerous awards, hall of fame inductions, and is honored to have a UMC Scholarship in his name.

He enjoyed raising and exhibiting sheep & pigs at fairs with his family. He also loved to play Whist and golf. After retiring, Truman and Dorothy moved to Fargo, enjoyed winters in Alamo, TX for 17 years, and moved to Great Falls in 2012. Truman and Dorothy were married 67 wonderful years.

Truman was a loving husband who cared deeply for his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son Steve (Brenda) Tilleraas, daughter Lisa Carlson, both of Great Falls, brother Duane (JoAnne) Tilleraas of Gary MN, four Grandchildren; Melissa (Cliff) Rust, Sarah (Dan) Kleinschmidt, Shawn Carlson, and Nathan Bring. He is also survived by five Great Grandchildren: Desiree, Elizabeth, and Taylar Kleinschmidt, Lillian, and Tanner Rust and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, children Perry, Bruce, and Susan, and siblings Clayton Tilleraas, Palma Juelson and Margaret Dekko.
