Greenawald, C. W. "Click"
C. W. "Click" Greenawald, 93, Green Bay, lost a battle with cancer on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. "Click" was born in Auburn, IN, to Clyde and Anna Greenawald.
Click graduated from Janesville High School at the age of 16, and then spent three years in the Conservation Corps at Blue Lake, WI. In 1940 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, serving through World War II, until 1945. He spent much of his adult life working as a machinist/maintenance supervisor at Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, retiring in 1980.
Click was the loving husband of Elaine (Kinard) Greenawald, who was with him for over 60 years. He is survived by six children, Sharon (Jack) Poole, Green Bay; Gary (Marlee) Greenawald, Green Bay; Kay Brehmer, Sturgeon Bay; Scott (Connie) Greenawald, Abrams; Gail (Don) McCartney, Green Bay, and Jim (Wendy) Greenawald, Green Bay; 17 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one daughter, Lana Perra.
A short service will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, ending with Military Honors. Click will be interred with his beloved Elaine at Fort Howard Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
