David "Dave" J. Barnum, age 55, Green Bay, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 24, 2014. He was born September 3, 1958 in Rockford, Illinois to the late John R. and Beverly (Peterson) Barnum.
Dave served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter, stationed in Aviano, Italy and Eglin AFB in Florida. He was honorably discharged after four years of service.
Then he married the love of his life, Carol Nelson on August 3, 1985 in Rockford, Illinois. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Stacey and Kristen.
Dave had a passion of sports that the loved to share with his family, especially by taking them to Packer games. He enjoyed both playing and watching golf, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Carol; two daughters, Stacey (friend Bradford) and Kristen; his brother, Bruce (Tracey) Barnum; two sisters, Roxanne (Stephen) Siekmann and Rosanne (Steve) Marheine. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Malme officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Intensive Care Unit for all the wonderful care given to Dave.
